John is President and one of the founding principals of HMA Consulting.

John serves as managing principal of the firm. He is responsible for building automation, security, fire alarm, and intelligent building systems projects. He provides expertise in the implementation of emerging technologies, project master planning, project programming, contracting methods, system evaluations, operational evaluations, commissioning, budget development and assists in specification writing, and construction administration processes.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M University and a Master of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University. He currently sits on the Board of Governors for the University of Houston Masters Program in Security Management.

John's project experience includes over 25 years as an international specialist consultant operating in low voltage building systems. He is an innovator in the field and routinely presents new system integration technologies to industry conferences worldwide. Prior to founding HMA Consulting, he was a Principal for Techcord Consulting Group, Inc. Earlier on, he was a Project Manager for Dunn Consulting and a Project Engineer for I.A. Naman + Associates.
John is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a LEED professional and a professional registered engineer in over 20 states.

John is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), 7 x 24 High Reliability Exchange, Building Commissioning Association, U.S. Green Building Council, the Energy Security Council and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), in which he has held the offices of North Texas Chapter Chairman and Regional Vice President.

Roger is Chairman and one of the founding principals of HMA Consulting.

Roger serves as principal in charge of international operations. He is responsible for building automation, security, fire alarm, and intelligent building systems projects. He provides expertise in the implementation of emerging technologies, project master planning, project programming, contracting methods, system evaluations, operational evaluations, commissioning, budget development and assists in specification writing, and construction administration processes.

Roger earned a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Ph.D. in Fuel Technology and Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield in England. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary.

Roger’s experience includes twenty-six years as a global consultant operating in low voltage building systems of all dimensions and specifications. He is a well-noted expert in the field with white papers published in industry newsletters worldwide. Prior to founding HMA Consulting, he was Chairman, President and Director of the Techcord Consulting Group International Ltd., which he co-founded. Earlier on he was the Director of Special Projects for Western Research Ltd.

Roger is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a Fellow of the Institute of Energy and a Chartered Engineer (U.K), a Registered Engineer in the European Community (FEANI), a member of the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (U.K.)

Roger is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologist and Geophysicists of Alberta, Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Intelligent Building Institute.

MATTHEW BADE, A.A.S.

Matthew is the principal in charge of the Las Vegas office. He is responsible for the design and implementation of access control, CCTV, security, fire alarm and intelligent building systems. He provides expertise in early project planning, budget development, specification and drawing preparation, detailed project coordination, commissioning, contracting methods, system and operational evaluations, construction administration, and final testing services.

Matthew earned his Associate Applied of Science, Electronic Technology degree from Texas State Technical College. In addition, he has achieved advance training from NFPA Life Safety and is a registered Microsoft Certified Engineer in NT Server.

Matthew’s project experience includes fifteen years in the specialist systems consulting industry. He consistently manages projects of extensive proportion across the United States and abroad. Prior to opening the Las Vegas office, Matthew was a Manager in the Houston office for ten years. Before joining HMA Consulting, Matthew was a systems designer with Techcord Consulting Group, Inc.

Matthew is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the Institute for Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and the American Society of Heating and Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

ALAN OSZ, R.E.T., C.P.P.

Alan is the principal in charge of the Calgary office. He is responsible for the design and implementation of building automation, security, fire alarm and intelligent building systems for a wide variety of project types. He provides specific proficiency in site evaluation services, risk analysis, early project planning, budget development, specification and drawing preparation, detailed project coordination, commissioning, contracting methods, system and operational evaluations, construction administration, and final testing services.

Alan received his Diploma in Air Conditioning Engineering from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Polytechnic. In addition he has postgraduate course work in Energy Management from Southern Alberta and Construction Administration work from University of Calgary.

Alan’s experience includes over twenty years in the specialist low voltage consulting industry. Prior to joining HMA Consulting, he was a Senior Design Associate with Techcord Consulting, Group Inc. Earlier on he was in the Power Engineering and Campus Planning and Development Departments for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Alan is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a registered Engineering Technologist (R.E.T.).

Alan is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (ASET) and the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA).

Hani Halfawi, P. Eng

Hani is the principal in charge of the Dubai UAE office. He is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of building automation, security, fire alarm systems and integrated “intelligent” building systems for a wide variety of projects.

He coordinates all Middle East design activities and provides early project planning, analysis, budget development, specification and drawing preparation, detailed project coordination, commissioning, contract methods, system and operational evaluations, construction administration and final testing services.

Hani earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University in Toronto.

Hani’s experience includes six years in the specialist systems consulting industry. Prior to opening the Middle East office, he worked in HMA’s Toronto office as a systems engineer. Before joining HMA Consulting, Hani was a project engineer with Siemens Building Technologies.

Hani is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

MITCHELL FACTOR

Mitchell Factor is Director of Marketing and Technology for HMA Consulting. Mitchell serves as primary marketing contact for building automation, security, fire alarm and intelligent building systems projects. He is responsible for business development, customer satisfaction, trade show participation, executive positioning, internal communications and external communications to include the website.

Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of North Texas.

Mitchell's experience includes over thirty years in the security systems industry. He has held various sales and management positions for manufacturer’s representatives, large systems integrators, and consulting firms to include Rusco Electronic Systems.

Mitchell is a member of the Building Commissioning Association (BCXA), the Energy Security Council, the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the 7x24 Exchange Reliability Council and the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA).
